Paolo is a veteran Australian deejay with his stylus firmly planted in Brisbane’s music DNA. An unashamed vinyl purist, he calls his style ‘unidentified pop’, uncovering amazing artists and music both past and present. People respond to the timeless nature of his music and the scrupulously informed choices he makes at the turntables.

“The truth is that I’ve spent much of my life looking for interesting and underplayed music. Many of the records I play never escaped the small towns from which they came so a big part of my performance is exposing new ears to incredible music they haven’t heard before. Soul, funk, house, rhythm and blues, jazz, garage, down tempo, up tempo, classics or contemporary. Music is a language, a language that connects communities.”

Paolo has grown and enhanced his musical style and has come to understand what it means to be an architect of sound. Whether its intimate club environments, festivals and sophisticated venues, Paolo’s versatility is undeniable. With over 35 years’ experience in the creative music industry, Paolo is widely acknowledged as one of the most eclectic selectors in the river city.

Paolo is a founding member of iconic Brisbane dance party WATCH YOUR STEP which ran at venues and festivals in Brisbane for more than a decade. He also hosts local, interstate and international deejays and holds residencies at Flying Colours and QUIVR.
